Hey there. Its about time I made a site update.
Its a pretty huge update I suppose. But it needed an overhaul. So there
skinny of it is.
I'm a 5th year senior at Drake University. I play trumpet in any kind of setting someone would want. I've played with the Drake University Wind Symphony, Concert band, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble 2 and Jazz ensemble 1 and D.U.M.B (Drake University Marching Band) and Drake Bulldog Brass, the pep band that plays for all home Basketball games, as well as travels to the tournaments. I've also completed a Senior solo trumpet recital. I performed the Vivaldi Concerto in Eb for Piccolo trumpet; on Eb trumpet the Haydn Trumpet Concerto in Eb, and on Bb trumpet, Fisher Tull's Three Bagatelles, for the first half. I concluded with John Cheetham's brass quintet Scherzo, The world premier of Two movements by George Marie, written for trumpet, clarinet and piano. And finally I arranged a piece for a large brass ensemble "When a man loves a woman", I got the idea from the Blue Devil's Drum and Bugle Corps 1992 performance, where they played this tune. So I arranged it for a much smaller ensemble. Since my recital the members of the group have decided they'd like the ensemble to be a more permanent thing. So for the school year of 2005-2006 I will be directing the group towards having our own concert every semester. I've taught marching bands in several states, as well as a drum corps, part of Drum Corps International. My last marching band teaching jobs consisted of Valley High school visual staff, McGuffey High School visual/brass clinician, and the Marion Glory Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps Brass/visual staff as well as Co-arranger for the 2005 show. I arranged our ballad with help from other music staff, and I wrote the closing tune, a reprise of the entire show in 2 minutes. If you would like to hear a sample of either of these tunes to email me and I'd be glad to give you a sample of my work. |
